Favorites from the Year

Amanda from The Teaching Thief is hosting a linky where you can link up and post your Favorites from the Year that you may not have been able to post earlier.  I know I have tons of “intended posts” that I start to put together and for whatever reason they never make it onto the blog.

Favorites from the Year

I have three of my favorite projects from the year!

The first are my snowmen plates.  I think I borrowed this idea from Cara at The First Grade Parade and it has been a favorite for a couple years.  They always turn out so cute and the kids are always so pleased with their work.

The next project went with my unit on China!  The kids used tangrams to create a picture and write a story to go with it.  It was a fun project, but really showed the personality of my class!  There were several discussion about what I really meant when I said that ALL the pieces needed to be used to build the picture.  I think several pieces were “lost” because they didn’t fit into the agenda Winking smile.

The final project was a Mother’s Day present.  We painted 6x6 tiles.  They were so beautiful!

Yeah!  I finally was able to post some of these fun projects – I rarely remember to take pictures and then forget to post them when I have them!

I can’t wait to see more fun and forgotten projects!

  1. Oh my gosh! They are all fabulous! I am really loving this linky. The snowman plates are SO CUTE! I have to try those next year. The tangram project is perfect to spur writing. I love that some pieces got lost. LOL. That's what I call creative problem solving. The tiles turned out great too. What a special gift for moms. Thanks so much for linking up!!

  2. Thanks! I was fun to share some of the things I never got on the blog. The snowmen plates are pretty quick and super cheap - $1 per student and 2 cans of sealer. The kids are always so proud! Thanks for commenting!
